[51] Denver Opens Busy Weekend with 7-0 Win over Weber State

The Pioneers will be back in action on Saturday against St. Thomas at DTP

DENVER – The [51] University of Denver women's tennis team opened its busiest weekend of the year with a 7-0 win over Weber State on Friday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.
 
Doubles:
Denver secured the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 wins on the top two courts. Camille Verden-Anderson and Britt Pursell improved to 6-3 on the year on the top court, while Taylor Melville and Toni Nelson teamed up for the first time this year and secured the doubles point with a 6-1 win on court two.
 
Singles:
Denver took all six singles courts to wrap-up the 7-0 victory.
 
Andrea Burguete Beltran was the first over the line, winning her third-straight match to improve to 5-3 on the season by the score of 6-1, 6-2.
 
Verden-Anderson made it 3-0 Pioneers with a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set win to improve to 5-3 on the campaign.
 
Melville got the match-clinching point on court two, taking her match in straight-sets 6-0, 6-4. She has now won back-to-back matches and improved to 3-4 on the year.
 
Pursell won her fifth-straight match on court three, taking the point 6-0, 6-4. She is now a team-best 7-2 on the season.
 
Anna Riedmiller won her third-straight to improve to 5-3 in the campaign, winning in straight-sets by a count of 6-4, 6-2.
 
Nelson closed out Denver's day with a super-tiebreak victory on court six, winning 6-3, 6-7 (6) [10-5]. Shei s now 4-3 on the season.

Denver will play the middle game of its three-match home weekend when the Pioneers take on St. Thomas on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. MT at the Denver Tennis Park.
