[73] Denver Drops Hard Fought Battle at [48] Tulsa

The Pioneers will look to clinch the Summit League regular season title on Saturday at Oral Roberts

TULSA – The [73] University of Denver women's tennis team (11-8, 6-0) was in tight matches across the complex, but fell to [48] Tulsa (13-7) 4-0 on Friday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
 
Doubles:
Taylor Melville and Toni Nelson made quick work of their doubles match, taking court two by a count of 6-1, but the Pioneers dropped a pair of tight matches on courts on and three to drop the doubles point. Nelson and Melville are 5-1 together on the season.
 
Singles:
Tulsa took the only three decided matches on courts one, three and six. Britt Pursell's match went to three sits with the Pio taking the opening set.
 
In the three that were not decided, Melville had a break lead in the third set after winning the first set. Camille Verden-Anderson was level 2-2 in the third set of her match on court four and Andrea Burguete Beltran had a break lead in the third set on court five.
 
Up Next:
Denver (11-8, 6-0) will look to clinch its ninth-straight Summit League regular season title on Saturday when the Pioneers take on Oral Roberts in Tulsa.
