DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis program finished the 2021-22 season ranked 65
th in the official ITA rankings, while the graduate student doubles tandem of
James Davis and
Matt Summers finished 76
th in the doubles national rankings.
In addition to the recently released national rankings, Denver checked in at No. 2 in the final 2022 Mountain Regional team rankings. In the regional singles rankings, Davis wrapped up third,
Nicolas Herrero Cuesta was sixth and Summers ranked 17
th. In doubles, Davis and Summers were third in the final ITA Mountain Regional rankings.
Herrero Cuesta will return as a junior for the Pioneers in 2023, joined by letter-winning classmates
Charlie Miller and
Peter Sallay. The Pioneer trio combined for a 37-16 singles record in 2022.
As a program, the Pioneers were also awarded the ITA Mountain Region Community Service Award.
