Davis and Summers Leave Their Mark on Denver Men’s Tennis Program

James Davis was named the 2022 ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year, while doubles partner Matt Summers finished his Denver career second in career singles wins and third in doubles wins

DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis program will be graduating two of its top student-athletes this week as James Davis (four years at DU/one at Oklahoma) and Matt Summers' (five years) time with the program draws to a close.

"Matt and James have done so much for our program and individually on and off the court," head coach Drew Eberly said. "They were extremely close friends growing up in England and the memories they have created at DU are ones they will have forever. I am beyond proud of what these two accomplished in the years at DU and can't wait to see what the future holds for them."

Davis and Summers names are littered through the Denver Men's Tennis Record Book after the duo not only had individual success on the singles court but have played No. 1 doubles together for the Pioneers since Davis arrived on the Denver campus in the 2018-19 season after playing his freshman year at Oklahoma.
