DU Men’s Tennis Travels to Northern Arizona on Saturday

Denver set for only match of the weekend

DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team will travel south to Northern Arizona on Saturday, January 28. The match is set for a 4 p.m. MT start.

Last Time Out:
DU hosted its first two home matches of the 2023 season, topping UC Davis 5-2 for Denver's first win of the year followed by a close battle with Rice on January 22 that came down to a third-set tiebreak on Court 4 with Rice taking the narrow 4-3 win.

Sophomore Daniel Sancho Arbizu went undefeated in singles and doubles during the weekend to lead the Pioneers. He landed a 6-3 win over UC Davis and a 6-1 win over Rice in doubles with partner Nicolas Herrero Cuesta on the No. 2 court and added two straight-sets victories in singles, also on the No. 2 court – including a 6-0 6-1 win over UC Davis' Andras Necz.

Graduate student Conner Olsen earned the clinching point for DU over UC Davis in three sets, winning the first set and then taking the match 6-1 in the third.

Series History:
DU is 4-2 all-time against NAU, most recently winning 5-2 at home on February 2, 2022. This will be the first meeting between the teams in Flagstaff, Arizona.
