DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team opened the Denver Hidden Duals with 10 combined wins across two sessions on Friday at Denver Tennis Park.
DU faced off against Montana State – as well as some players from Air Force – sweeping the morning's doubles matches before going 5-1 in singles play. Highlighting the session was a quick 6-1 victory for DU's doubles team of sophomore
Raffaello Papajcik and junior
Rikuto Yamaguchi and just four games lost in singles for both graduate student
Marvin Schaber and senior
Charlie Miller.
Papajcik and Yamaguchi returned to the court for a second set of matches in the afternoon session to fill in some slots while Air Force and Gonzaga faced off. Though the duo lost their second doubles match of the day, each collected a second singles victory against opponents from Air Force.
The Denver Hidden Duals continues on Saturday with Air Force and Montana State followed by Denver vs. Gonzaga. Play is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. MT at Denver Tennis Park.
