DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball team had four players in double figures in a 90-66 win over Colorado College on Saturday afternoon inside Hamilton Gymnasium. The victory is the Pioneers fourth-straight.
The Pioneers (6-3) four scorers were led by Tainamo, who had 23 points and eight rebounds. Tommy Bruner added 19 points, eight assists and two steals and Jaxon Brenchley chipped in as well with 12 points.
Led by Tainamo's four offensive rebounds, Denver did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in eight second chance points.
Denver did a great job disrupting Colorado College shots in the contest, coming away with 11 blocks. Isaiah Carr's nine rejections led the way individually for the Pioneers.

Touko Tainamo finished with 23 points and 8 rebounds.
- Tainamo finished in double figures for the fifth-straight game, the eighth time this season and the 37th time in his career.
- Tainamo had 20+ points for the fourth time this season and the sixth time in his career.
Tommy Bruner finished with 19 points and 8 assists.
- Bruner stretched his streak in double figures to 11-straight games, the 81st time the fifth-year senior has finished with 10+ points.

- Carr's nine blocks are the third most by a men's Division I student-athlete this season.
- Carr's nine blocks also tied Denver's school record first set by Yemi Nicholson on Feb. 26, 2005 against New Orleans.
Jaxon Brenchley finished with 12 points
- Brenchley finished in double figures for the fifth time this season and the ninth time in his collegiate career.
Pedro Lopez-Sanvicente finished with a career-high 11 points.
- Lopez-Sanvicente finished in double figures for the first time in his career.
How It Happened:
After jumping out to a 14-8 advantage, Denver went on a 7-0 run with 14:05 left in the first half to increase its lead to 21-8. The Pioneers then added three points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 46-30 advantage. Denver did most of its first half damage in the paint, scoring 26 of its 46 points close to the basket.
Denver kept its lead intact before going on an 8-0 run to grow the lead to 72-52 with 6:34 to go in the contest. The Pioneers kept expanding the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 90-66 win. Denver got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 13 of its 44 total points.
