DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team (2-2) returns to Denver Tennis Park to host Air Force (4-0) on Friday, February 3, at 5 p.m. MT
and Montana State (0-2) on Sunday, February 5, at 10:30 a.m.
The Denver versus Montana State match originally scheduled for February 5 is canceled due to MSU not being able to field a complete lineup.
Last Time Out:
DU captured its first road win of the season, topping Northern Arizona 4-3 on January 28. After dropping the doubles point, Denver rallied to win four of the six singles matches with graduate student
Conner Olsen winning the clinching match in a third-set tiebreak (11-9).
Series History:
Air Force: DU holds a 19-3 record against AFA including a perfect 11-0 at home and is riding a 15-match winning streak. Denver won 6-1 the last time the teams met (February 11, 2022, at Air Force) while winning the last match at Denver Tennis Park (January 29, 2021) by the same score.
During the 2022 fall season, Denver participated in the Bedford Cup, hosted by Air Force. DU sophomore
Daniel Sancho Arbizu won the top singles title, and graduate student
Mitch Johnson made the singles final in the "C" draw.
Up Next:
DU travels to Wichita State on Sunday, February 12, before returning to Denver for three matches against Metro State, Utah State and Idaho on February 17-19 at Denver Tennis Park.
