DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team heads to the West Coast for the first time this season for two matches in Los Angeles.
Denver first takes on host Loyola Marymount on Friday, March 3, before playing Boise State in a neutral match hosted by LMU on Saturday, March 4. Both matches are set for 11 a.m. PT/12 p.m. MT starts.
Last Time Out:
DU dropped a 5-2 match at then-No. 57 Utah on February 25 but earned two singles wins: from graduate student
Conner Olsen in No. 4 singles (6-4 6-4) and from freshman
Raffaello Papajcik in No. 6 singles (1-6 6-3 7-6[3]). The freshman is now 5-0 in singles on the season while the graduate student has now won his last four singles matches.
Series History:
Denver, Loyola Marymount and Boise State all played one another in 2022 during a March 11-13 weekend in Boise, Idaho.
Loyola Marymount: Denver is 3-2 all-time against LMU including wins in the last two matches – the most recent a 4-1 DU win in the neutral-site match in Boise on March 12, 2022. Denver has not traveled to LA since March 18, 2004, in a match that Denver won, 5-2.
Boise State: DU holds a 2-6 record against BSU, winning two of the last three matches. Boise claimed the most recent win, 4-3, in Boise on March 11, 2022. Denver won the two matches before that: 4-1 in Denver on April 12, 2018; and 5-2 in Boise on January 21, 2017.
