DENVER – University of Denver gymnasts and juniors Jessica Hutchinson and Rylie Mundell were named to the 2023 All-Big 12 Gymnastics Team, the Big 12 Conference announced on Wednesday.
 
Hutchinson earned All-Big 12 recognition in the all-around and on beam while Mundell did so on bars.
 
The All-Big 12 Team features the top three student-athletes – including ties – on each of the four events and the top two in the all-around, based on National Qualifying Score (NQS) heading into the conference championship.
 
The reigning Big 12 all-around champion and Gymnast of the Year, Hutchinson collected the first All-Big 12 honors of her career. She enters the postseason with the eighth-highest all-around NQS in DU history (39.535) and is tied for the sixth-highest beam NQS in program history (9.920). The Denver junior has set or tied career highs on all four events and in the all-around in 2023 including perfect 10.0s on beam and floor.
 
Mundell, who won a share of the Big 12 bars title in 2022, also earned her first career All-Big 12 award and did so on the same event as last year's title.
 
No. 13 Denver begins its postseason at the 2023 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship, hosted by West Virginia, on Saturday, March 18, at 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT. The meet will be televised live on ESPNU.
