DENVER – The No. 46-ranked University of Denver women's tennis team (13-4) posted its second-straight 7-0 sweep over a Summit League opponents at Denver Tennis Park, topping South Dakota on Sunday.
Denver finished 14-0 in its two conference matches played over the weekend.
Doubles:
DU began the day by dropping just two games in its completed matches to take the doubles point, beginning with a bagel in No. 2 doubles from sophomore
Andrea Burguete Beltran and freshman
Claudia Martinez de Velasco. In No. 1 doubles, fifth-year student
Taylor Melville and senior
Britt Pursell clinched the point with a 6-2 win.
Singles:
Denver swept the singles matches and secured the team win after losing four or fewer games in each of the first three matches to wrap up. Freshman
Louise Wikander had the first singles victory of the day in No. 4 singles and dropped just three total games.
Pursell put Denver within a point of the win with a 6-3 6-1 win in No. 3 singles. Burguete Beltran gave DU the clinching fourth point with a similar 6-1 6-3 score line.
Melville got her second-straight win in No. 1 singles by a score of 6-3 6-4 while freshman
Caroline Driscoll also won for the second match in a row, dropping just one more game than the fifth-year student.
Martinez de Velasco continued her hot streak with a straight-sets win in No. 6 singles, her team-best fifth victory in a row.

No. 46 Denver travels to Tulsa for its final non-conference match of the year on Friday, April 7, before visiting Oral Roberts the following day in the penultimate weekend of the regular season.
