DENVER – The [11/10] University of Denver men's lacrosse program will hit the road for the regular season finale, traveling to the same site of the 2023 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Tournament, when the Pioneers head to Valley Fields on Friday night to take on Marquette. Opening faceoff is set for 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT.
DI Series History vs. Marquette
Denver holds an 11-2 edge in the series, and has won the last six meetings between the two programs. The Pioneers are a perfect 9-0 against the Golden Eagles in BIG EAST regular season play. The two Marquette wins came in the 2016 BIG EAST Tournament Final and the 2017 BIG EAST Tournament Semifinal.

Denver experienced all four weather seasons in a seven-goal win over Providence to send the 2023 senior class and head coach
Bill Tierney off the way they deserved in their final regular season home game.
JJ Sillstrop led the Denver offense with four goals, while
Michael Lampert led the distribution with a career-high four assists.

Bill Tierney will roam the Denver sidelines for his 14
th and final season in 2023. Tierney enters the game at 165-58 at DU and 437-151 in his 39
th season as a college head lacrosse coach.
All Across the Country
The 2023 Denver Pioneers have players from 19 different states, bringing the program's total in the Division I era to 35 different states. The 2023 Pioneers added three new states to the program's list: Iowa (
Michael Provenza), Kansas (
Cade Eldred) and Utah (
Chris Caldwell).
Notes:
- Sillstrop leads Denver with a 12-game active point streak.
- Denver is eighth in the country in senior class wins with 43.
- Alec Stathakis enters the weekend facing off at 60.1% and has brought his career average this season up to 59.9%.
