NCAA National Gymnastics Championships Details Released

Denver to compete in NCAA National Semifinal I on Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT

DENVER – The NCAA has released competition details for the 2023 NCAA National Championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 13-15.

The University of Denver gymnastics team will compete in Semifinal I on Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MT. The meet will be televised live on ESPN2 with additional event streams on ESPN+.

Joining Denver in Semifinal I will be No. 2-ranked Florida, No. 6 LSU and No. 7 California. Semifinal II will feature No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 UCLA, No. 5 Utah and No. 9 Kentucky.

The top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the NCAA Championship Final on Saturday, April 15, at 3 p.m. CT/2 p.m. MT where the team national championship will be awarded. The NCAA Championship Final will be televised live on ABC.

Rotating with Denver during Semifinal I will be four individual event specialists: Courtney Blackson (Boise State, vault), Emily Lopez (Boise State, bars), Alisa Sheremeta (Missouri, beam) and Elexis Edwards (Ohio State, floor).

Individual national championships will be determined during Thursday when results from both semifinals are combined.

Additional information about the 2023 NCAA National Championships – including ticketing information – will be announced in the coming days.

Denver has now qualified as a team for the NCAA National Championships six times, most recently in 2019 when DU advanced to the first-ever four-team NCAA Championship Final and placed fourth overall.

Two DU gymnasts have won individual national titles: Lynnzee Brown (floor, 2019) and Nina McGee (floor, 2016).

DU secured its berth to this year's NCAA Nationals after winning the Denver Regional on April 2. Denver entered Sunday's competition as the lowest ranked of the four teams but finished atop the final standings after upsetting No. 3 Michigan, No. 6 LSU and No. 11 Oregon State with a DU postseason-record 197.875 – which is tied for the second-highest score in program history.
