DENVER – University of Denver men's soccer junior forward Oje Ofunrein has been named the NCAA Digital Men's Soccer National Player of the Week, the social media channels announced on Thursday.
Ofunrein netted his first career hat trick in Denver's 4-0 win over UC San Diego on Friday night at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. The Denver junior scored the Pioneers first three goals, including an opener that was the second-fastest goal to start a match in the program's Division I history (1:02) and his second and third goals that came 1:32 apart, the sixth-fastest consecutive goals by the same player in program history. The hat trick was the 11th fastest in the program's history (59 minutes).
In the national rankings, Ofunrein currently ranks first in the country in goals (7), first in game-winning goals (4) and first in the country in total points (14).
