DENVER, CO --The Denver volleyball team took care of business at home in straight sets (30-28, 25-18, 25-18) to take down the Idaho State Bengals Thursday at home at Hamilton Gymnasium.
The victory improved the Pioneers' overall record to 1-6 on the season.
Cassie Davis finished with 10 kills on the day to lead the Pioneers offense.Cadi Boyer was dominant on both sides of the ball with eight kills, six coming as aces. She also recorded five blocks. Anchoring the back row, two players reach double figures in digs as Gianna Bartalo had 17 and Briley Decker had 11, season highs for both players.

SET 1 | The Pioneers came out on top of a close first set, winning 30-28 in a stanza that was tied 15 times and had five lead changes. The Pioneers opening set win came in a stanza where 17 of their 30 points came via the kill.
SET 2 | After their win in the first set, Denver put themselves on the cusp of a sweep with a 25-18 victory in set number two. The Pioneers led from the first point on in the set to earn the victory. Denver opened its biggest lead of the stanza, seven points, to close out the set. The Denver offense also got a boost from seven aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Denver finished off the match in a 3-0 sweep after winning the third set. The Pioneers took a 1-0 lead and never looked back in the set to earn a 25-18 victory. Denver opened up as much as an 11 point lead at 16-5 before closing out the set.
