Pioneers Fall in Tough Battle Against Colorado

BOULDER, CO --The Denver Pioneers jumped ahead 1-0, but couldn't hold on and lost 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 18-25) to the Colorado Buffaloes Sunday at the CU Events Center.

The loss moved Denver to 1-7 on the season.

The Pioneers attack was paced by Molly Mirabelli, who finished with 14 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .6, and by Cassie Davis, who had 12. got nine digs from Gianna Bartalo, along with eight blocks from Mirabelli to lead them defensively.
