DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team will have two student-athletes playing for singles titles on the final day of the fall season's opening weekend. Junior Daniel Sancho Arbizu advanced to the final of the Milwaukee Tennis Classic while fellow junior Rikuto Yamaguchi will play in the Falcon "C" Draw final at the Bedford Cup.
 
Sancho Arbizu moved into the Milwaukee singles final after three-set wins over nationally-ranked players in his quarterfinal and semifinal matches. Against the No. 1 seed and No. 36-ranked Dusan Milanovic in the quarters, he came back to win after losing the first set. Later in the afternoon, he split sets against the No. 3 seed and No. 110-ranked Sebastien Collard after trading breaks multiple times in each set. He then rolled through the third set, taking a commanding 5-1 lead and closing it out at 6-2.
 
At the Bedford Cup, Yamaguchi lost just four games in his semifinal of the Falcon (C) Draw to move into Sunday's final. Graduate student Anish Sriniketh fell in his semifinal match to the No. 1 seed in the Lightning (A) Draw and will play in the third-place match on Sunday.
 
Play will wrap up at both tournaments on Sunday with the singles and doubles finals, as well as select consolation matches.
