Crockett’s Three Points Lift DU Women’s Soccer Over St. Thomas

Denver defender scores game winner after putting Denver up 2-1 in the 64th minute

ST. PAUL, Minnesota – The University of Denver women's soccer team (6-1-4, 2-0-0 Summit) captured its second Summit League win of the year off a goal and an assist from senior Jordan Crockett on Thursday.

Denver took a 1-0 lead 11 minutes into the match when graduate student Kaitlyn Glover pushed home a tremendous Crockett service from near midfield. After UST found the equalizer in the 59th minute, Crockett perfectly placed a free kick at the cross bar to put DU back up by a goal after the UST keeper failed to cleanly catch it.

SIGNIFICANT STATS:
  • Crockett's second-half goal was the second game winner of her career and her first goal since her sophomore campaign in 2021.
  • Glover moved into a tie for the team lead in goals with her fifth of the season, joining freshman Liv Moritz at the top of DU's leaderboard.
  • For the 10th match in a row, Denver logged double-digit shot attempts and outshot its opponent for the ninth time in those 10 matches.
  • DU held its opponent without a corner kick for the second time this season – both times coming on the road (at Oregon on September 10).
  • Junior Samantha Dreiling extended her streak of matches with at least one shot to a team-best nine in a row, putting two balls toward the net on Thursday.
FIRST HALF:
6' | Moritz contained the ball along the left edge of the box and forced the UST keeper to make a diving save.

7' | Graduate student Camryn MacMillan had a look from 20 yards out, though her shot sailed high.

11' | From midfield, Crockett sent the ball arcing perfectly into the box and met an awaiting Glover, who turned to push the ball to the right of the keeper and into the back of the net.

37' | Junior Ella Frost initially sent a free kick into the UST wall from a few yards beyond the penalty area. She collected the rebound and got a quality shot off but missed inches wide left.

45' | Junior Jadyn Goodrich carried the ball in from the left side of the pitch and tapped it forward to Frost, who again placed the ball near the left post where the UST keeper grabbed it.

SECOND HALF:
48' | MacMillan dribbled around a UST defender to find herself clear near the net, but the UST keeper kicked her shot away at the edge of the six-yard box.

52' | UST got behind Denver's defenders, but freshman Molly Wissman came out to challenge the attack and came up with her own kick save.

59' | UST's Jasmine Gates jumped in front of an attempted reset from Wissman inside the box and leveled the match.

64' | From just inside the right sideline, Crockett perfectly arched a free kick at the net where the UST keeper couldn't handle the shot.
