DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program fell to Omaha 91-72 on Saturday afternoon inside Hamilton Gymnasium.
The Pioneers (13-9, 4-3) had two players score in double figures, led by Tommy Bruner, who had 21 points and four assists. Jaxon Brenchley tacked on 11 points and three steals and Isaiah Carr added six points and eight rebounds.
Denver did an excellent job taking care of the basketball, dishing out 14 assists while turning the ball over four times. Bruner's four assists led the distribution list for the Pioneers.
Denver forced 14 Omaha turnovers while committing only four themselves in Saturday's game. The Pioneers turned those takeaways into 26 points on the other end of the floor. Brenchley's three steals led the way for Denver.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Denver struggled out of the gate, falling behind 43-33 heading into halftime.
Omaha kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 74-43 advantage before Denver went on an 8-0 run, finished off by Brenchley's layup, to shrink the deficit to 74-51 with 8:57 to go in the contest. The Pioneers kept their comeback going, but Omaha managed to hold on for the 91-72 win. Denver shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting six shots from deep to score 18 of its 39 points.
