KANSAS CITY – The [3/1] University of Denver men's soccer program's conceded early and was unable to find an equalizer in a 1-0 loss at Kansas City on Saturday night at the Durwood Soccer Stadium.

Kansas City: Kisoka 14'
First Half:
14' Kansas City scored on the first shot on target of the night. Kansas City turned the Pios over in the build, and the ball fell to the feet of Elie Kisoka, who turned at the top of the box and found the back of the net in the right-side netting.
21' The Roos' Miguel Fernandez got on the end of a direct ball from their own half, but his attempt at the home side's second in the opening half hour was high of the target.
30' Ronan Wynne got Denver's first real attempt of the night, but he missed the target to the left.
39' Gabriele Galluccio took KCs next two chances within a minute of each other. The first from the right side of the penalty area was just over the bar.
44' Luke Schultz earned himself some space with a diagonal run near the top of the box, but he wasn't able to get enough on the shot and it rolled straight to the goalkeeper.
The Roos outshot the Pios 8-3 in the opening 45 minutes, including 3-1 on target.
Second Half:
46' Sam Bassett took the first shot of the second half, but his strike from the center of the box hit Bryce Willoughby in-front and didn't reach the target.
49' Denver earned its second corner of the night, and the ball bounced out to Jake Smith at the top of the box, but Smith's shot sailed over the bar.
55' Willoughby took Denver's fifth shot in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, getting a head on a cross but it sailed over the bar and out for a goal kick.
67' After a 10-minute segment with play going back and forth in the midfield, Smith took the next attempt towards goal from well outside the box, and his shot was way over the bar.
74' Kansas City's first shot of the second half came nearly 30 minutes in, but Le Bourdoulous' shot from the top of the box was over the target.

Denver will complete the first half of the double round robin of Summit League play on Wednesday night when the Pioneers welcome Omaha to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. Opening kickoff is set for 6 p.m. MT and will be broadcast live on the Summit League Network.
