DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team has signed five future student-athletes for the 2025-26 academic year, Joy S. Burns Head Women's Gymnastics Coach
Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart announced on Wednesday.
Megan Aamold,
Shyla Bhatia,
Sevana Kasparian,
Kaitlynd Kastl and
Terra Rutter have signed athletic grants and will attend the University of Denver beginning in the fall of 2025. They will first compete for the Denver Gymnastics team during the 2026 season.
Together, they rank as the No. 8 recruiting class in the country for 2025-26, according to College Gym News.
"We're excited to welcome Megan, Shyla, Sevana, Kaitlynd and Terra to the Denver Gymnastics family," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "As a class, they bring a tremendous passion for gymnastics, which is evident in their strong wrong ethic and competitive excellence. They embody our program philosophy of teamwork, character and excellence, and strive for success both academically and athletically.
"All five of them are die-hard Denver Pioneers, ready to carry on the legacy of Denver Gymnastics. They will bring new energy and enthusiasm to the team, and we can't wait to have them on campus."
Megan Aamold is a Level 10 gymnast from San Jose, California, and trains at West Valley Gymnastics. She is a four-star recruit, according to CGN.
Aamold is a four-time USA Gymnastics Development Program Level 10 National Championships qualifier, advancing in each of the last four years and tying for fifth on beam in the last two. At the 2024 Region 1 Championships, she won the beam title and added third-place finishes in the all-around and on vault. She also won the all-around and floor titles at the 2022 Region 1 Championships while also tying for second on beam in 2023.
"Megan combines strength and power with elegance to deliver beautiful gymnastics," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "Her smile lights up the room, and she brings enthusiasm to everything she does. Her love for competition and for improving her craft every day inspires those around her."

Megan Aamold Highlights
Shyla Bhatia is a Level 10 gymnast from Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, training at Silvia's Gymnastics. She is a CGN four-star recruit.
Bhatia has qualified for USAG Level 10 Nationals in the last three seasons and won the vault title in 2023. In each of those three nationals appearances, she has placed no lower than fourth on floor including in third place in the most recent two. In 2024, she added a fifth-place finish on vault. In total, she has eight Region 7 titles to her name including twice in the all-around (2024 and 2022).
"Shyla brings competitive excellence on all four events," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She possesses a high level of difficulty with a style that college gymnastics fans will love. Her work ethic and willingness to push the status quo was evident from the first camp that she attended in Denver, and we can't wait to see where it takes her."

Shyla Bhatia Highlights
Sevana Kasparian calls Granada Hills, California, home and trains as a Level 10 gymnast at Gymnastics Olympica USA. CGN lists her as a four-star recruit.
Kasparian is also a three-time USAG Level 10 Nationals qualifier who has finished in the top six on bars each time while also tying for eighth on floor in 2023 and placing eighth in the all-around in 2022. Five times, she has finished on the podium at the Region 1 Championships, winning on bars in 2022. Most recently, she tied for third on vault and added a fifth-place finish in the all-around in 2024.
"Sevana is a calm, consistent, high-level competitor on all four events," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She has a beautiful style in her gymnastics and continues to develop new skills that will help her excel at DU. Her loyalty to Denver and her readiness to bring the program to the next level is already shining through."

Sevana Kasparian Highlights
Kaitlynd Kastl trains at Metroplex Gymnastics as a Level 10 gymnast. She is a CGN three-star recruit who calls Forney, Texas, home.
Kastl in a two-time USAG Level 10 Nationals qualifier who placed fourth on floor in 2023. At the 2023 Region 3 Championships, she took home the title on beam while also placing second in the all-around and finishing third on bars and fourth on vault. At the 2024 Texas State Championships, she finished in the top five on all four events plus the all-around, highlighted by a second-place finish on bars.
"Kaitlynd is steady, graceful and disciplined," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "Her attention to detail in training coupled with her resilience, dedication and positive attitude will not only unlock her potential to excel competitively in college gymnastics, but it will also make everyone around her better."

Kaitlynd Kastl Highlights
Terra Rutter is from Los Gatos, California, and trains at Airborne Gymnastics as a Level 10 gymnast. According to CGN, she is a four-star recruit.
Rutter has qualified for USAG Level 10 Nationals in each of the last three seasons, placing seventh on beam in 2024 and tying for eighth on bars in 2022. She has a combined seven top-five finishes in her career at the Region 1 Championships, led by a tie for second in the all-around in 2023. At the 2024 Region 1 Championships, she extended her streak of top-five finishes on bars to three, placing fourth this time around.
"Terra's character and maturity are evident in everything she does – inside the gym and out," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "Her strong technique and ability to continuously grow and improve her gymnastics with relentless motivation will be a big asset to the team."

Terra Rutter Highlights
Denver is preparing for the upcoming 2025 gymnastics season, during which DU will host six meets in Magness Arena, starting with a showdown against Michigan on January 5 in the season opener. Among other teams making the trip to Denver in 2025 are Missouri and Georgia, as well as Big 12 Conference opponents Arizona State, BYU and West Virginia.
DU is coming off a highly-successful 2024 campaign that saw the team advance to the NCAA Regional Final and log wins over top-ranked programs including UCLA – once in the regular season and then again at NCAA Regionals – Stanford, Michigan and Missouri. DU finished the year ranked inside the top 10 in the country for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
