Pioneers Bounce Back in Sweep of North Dakota State

DENVER, CO --The Denver volleyball team swept (25-18, 25-21, 25-17) the North Dakota State Bison on Saturday in Hamilton Gymnasium.

The conference victory improved Denver's record to 10-12 overall and 5-7 in Summit League play.

The Pioneers offense was paced by Ava Reynolds, who finished with 15 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .429, and by Cassie Davis, who had 14 while hitting .619.  Alayna Finucan to lead the Pios defensively with 11 digs.

SET 1 | The Pioneers won the first point and never looked back to secure the first set 25-18. Denver opened up its biggest lead, seven points, to close out the set, totaling 17 kills along the way.

SET 2 | Denver carried momentum from a set-one win by earning a 25-21 victory in the second set. The Pioneers grabbed control of the set lead early on at 5-4 and never trailed. Denver led by as many as six points at 23-17 before finishing off the set, collecting 15 kills .

SET 3 | Denver then ended the match with a victory in set number three. The Pioneers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn a 25-17 victory. Denver ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, eight points, to finish off the set. The Denver offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
