DENVER - The University of Denver women's basketball team (7-6, 0-0) opens Summit League play on Thursday against the South Dakota Coyotes (6-8, 0-0).
SERIES HISTORY: The Pioneers are 3-21 against the Yotes, and dropped the last matchup, 48-78 in Hamilton on February 8, 2024.Â
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE:
•The Pioneers rallied in the second half to defeat North Alabama, 78-70, on December 21 in Hamilton.
•Denver women's basketball opens Summit League play on January 2 against South Dakota in Hamilton Gymnasium
•DU will face off against the reigning conference champions, South Dakota State on January 4.

Doshia Woods, the Pioneers have played the analytics game, finishing top-30 nationally in both three-pointers attempted and triples made per game.
• In 2023-24, Denver finished 10th in threes attempted (821/27.4), 29th in threes made per game (8.2) and 207th in three-point field goal percentage (30.1).
• The Pioneers made double-digit triples on nine different occasions during the 2023-24 campaign, including a season-high 16 vs. Stetson (12/9) and Oral Roberts (2/3).

JONES NAMED TO PRESEASON FIRST TEAM

Jordan Jones was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team ahead of media day on October 8.
• Jones started all 30 games last season averaging 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season.
• The Wyoming native is the first preseason first-team all-league selection under Woods.
