DENVER - The University of Denver women's basketball returns home for a matchup against Big Sky opponent, Portland State, on Saturday afternoon in Hamilton Gymnasium. Tip is set for 1 p.m. MT.

The Pioneers dropped the first of two Big Sky Summit League Challenge games on Wednesday night in Pocatello, Idaho against the Bengals.

SERIES HISTORY:
Denver has an 0-2 record against the Vikings. The Pioneers dropped the most recent meeting between the two teams, 66-70, on December 20, 2011 in a neutral site game.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
•The Pioneers fell to Idaho State, 61-73, on Wednesday night in Pocatello, Idaho, in the first of two Big Sky Summit League Challenge games.
•Denver women's basketball will return to Hamilton Gymnasium for a game against the Portland State Vikings on Saturday at 1 p.m. MT.
•DU will take a trip up north to take on in-state opponent Colorado in Boulder on Tuesday night.

LONG BALL ELITE
• In offensive coordinator Lindsay Werntz' four seasons under head coach Doshia Woods, the Pioneers have played the analytics game, finishing top-30 nationally in both three-pointers attempted and triples made per game.
• In 2023-24, Denver finished 10th in threes attempted (821/27.4), 29th in threes made per game (8.2) and 207th in three-point field goal percentage (30.1).
• The Pioneers made double-digit triples on nine different occasions during the 2023-24 campaign, including a season-high 16 vs. Stetson (12/9) and Oral Roberts (2/3).

LEADERSHIP GROUP
• Head coach Doshia Woods named Emma Smith, Jordan Jones, Angelina Robles and Emily Counsel to the 2024-25 leadership team.

JONES NAMED TO PRESEASON FIRST TEAM
• Junior guard Jordan Jones was named to the Preseason All-Summit League First Team ahead of media day on October 8.
• Jones started all 30 games last season averaging 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per game last season.
• The Wyoming native is the first preseason first-team all-league selection under Woods.
