No. 37 DU Men’s Tennis to Host Nevada on Tuesday

Denver begins three-match week with Tuesday afternoon dual at DTP

DENVER – The No. 37-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team (14-0, 0-0 Summit) will host its first of three matches this week when it welcomes Nevada to Denver Tennis Park on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.

DU is looking to extend its Division I program-record 14-0 unbeaten start to the 2024 season at Tuesday's match after canceling its March 24 match at Cal Poly.

Last Time Out:
Denver will have gone 10 days between matches on Tuesday after last playing at Air Force on March 16, defeating the Falcons, 5-2. DU won the doubles point for the seventh-straight match before going up 3-0 with wins at Nos 2 and 3 singles. AFA earned a point before DU senior Nicolas Herrero Cuesta clinched the dual for Denver.

DU junior Daniel Sancho Arbizu was named the Summit League Peak Performer of the Week after winning his No. 2 doubles match and then adding a straight-sets win at No. 3 singles.

Series History:
Nevada: This will be the fourth meeting between Denver and Nevada with DU winning the three previous matches. The teams have never met in Denver previously after starting their head-to-head history with two neutral-site matches before the Wolfpack hosted DU in their most recent meeting, a 4-3 win for Denver on March 21, 2022.

Up Next:
The University of Denver men's tennis team will host two more matches this week, beginning with its non-conference finale against Oregon on Friday, March 29, before beginning Summit League play against North Dakota on Sunday, March 31.
