DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse graduate student defender
AJ Mercurio has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Mercurio had a career-high four caused turnovers to go with four ground balls in the Pioneers 15-6 win over Le Moyne on Saturday night at PBLS. The Nevada native led a Denver defense that allowed just one goal in the second half to send Denver to the nine-goal win.
