DENVER – University of Denver men's lacrosse junior defenseman
Jimmy Freehill has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Freehill had six caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 9-6 victory at [RV/RV] Villanova on Saturday afternoon, leading Denver to a six-goal allowed day for the second time in three games (at Ohio State – March 17).
The six caused turnovers in a game are tied for second in Denver's Division I history, and are tied for the most in a game in NCAA Division I this season.
