DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program has 13 former players on 2026 National Lacrosse League opening night rosters. NLL teams announced their opening night rosters on Monday ahead of the four-game NLL slate set to begin on Friday night.
Opening night provided a classic as the Oshawa Fire Wolves made their debut in their new city, and the fans went home happy with a one-goal win over Toronto. Former Pio
Alex Simmons led the Fire Wolves with six points on a pair of goals and four assists, while fellow former Pio
Ethan Walker provided the game-winner to break the 7-7 deadlock with 53 seconds to play in regulation. Walker scored both of his goals in the fourth and added a second-quarter assist on Simmons' first marker of the night.
San Diego's #ProPios did their thing in the opener on Saturday.
Wes Berg had a goal and four assists that included career assist number 400, while
Trevor Baptiste led the Seals to a 29-4 advantage from the stripe to go with 13 loose balls and his first goal of the season to make it a 4-0 Seals lead seven seconds into the second quarter.
