In game one on Friday night in Toronto, the Rock used a 4-2 fourth quarter to edge the Thunderbirds 14-12 in the series opener. Dawick had a goal and two helpers, while the Mailman Matthews had a goal and three apples. Trailing by as many as five goals in the second quarter, Dawick scored the fourth goal in a 6-0 Rock run to flip the game on its head and give the home team a one-goal edge with 12:56 to go in regulation. Matthews had the primary assist on the go-ahead power play goal in the fourth. In game one on the Thunderbirds side, former Pioneer

Dawick had a pair of assists for the victorious Rock. Bomberry had a goal and a helper and Wilson had an assist for Halifax, who fell to Toronto 12-7 in the finale.
