DENVER - The University of Denver community elevated its game once again this year as a department record $516,000 was raised on 1Day4DU in support of Denver Athletics' 18 varsity programs, more than $100,000 over last year's record-setting day of giving.
"On behalf of the entire athletic department at the University of Denver, we are thankful for the generosity of nearly 350 supporters and the impact that their record-setting donations will have on our student-athletes and their collegiate experience in the years to come," Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Ritchie Center Operations Josh Berlo said. "The money raised will continue to give DU and its student-athletes the competitive opportunity to chase championships, excel in the classroom and develop skills that will prepare them for a holistic lifestyle after graduation."
The money raised provides the resources needed to operate at an elite level in recruiting, strength and conditioning enhancements, performance nutrition, career development, leadership training, and more.
