DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program has 11 former players on the initial 2024 PLL 25-man rosters ahead of the season opener on Saturday in Albany.
Former Pioneers head coach
Bill Tierney will make his PLL head coaching debut in the season opener on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT on ABC.
A pair of Pioneers fresh off their run to the program's first Championship Weekend appearance since 2017 will also see their teams play in the opener.
Jack DiBenedetto made the 25-man roster for Utah, and
AJ Mercurio earned a spot from his former head coach and the Philadelphia Waterdogs.
Alex Simmons is the third former Pio to earn a spot on his first 25-man roster, making the California squad. Simmons and the Redwoods are idle in the opening week.

PLL Returns to Peter Barton August 9-10 - BUY TICKETS:
The Premier Lacrosse League will make its third trip to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on the weekend of August 9-10. The hometown Denver Outlaws will play the first and fourth games of the weekend, and all five teams with #ProPios on initial 25-man rosters will feature.
Friday, August 9 – Maryland vs. Denver – 6 p.m. | Philadelphia vs. California – 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 10 – New York vs. Utah – 12:30 p.m. | Carolina vs. Denver – 5 p.m.
