DENVER – University of Denver men's basketball freshman guard Tymo Sternicki has led Poland on both ends of the court as the national team marches on to the quarterfinals later this week after a second-place finish in Group B.
Through the five games of pool play, Sternicki leads Poland and is eighth in the Division in points per game, averaging 16.2. Sternicki also leads Poland in rebounding, pulling down 7.2 boards per game, while also leading the team in assists (4.8/game) and steals (2.8).
Next up, Sternicki and Poland will take on winners of Group A Montenegro in the first of four quarterfinals on Friday, set to tip at 5:30 a.m. MT. STREAM

A 6-foot 9 forward from Gdynia, Poland, Sternicki comes to Denver having played on the U15, U17 and U18 teams in Poland. He led his team to U15 and U17 Polish championships as well as being named the U15 Championship MVP in 2021.
