DENVER – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program mourns the loss of former Pioneer
Jeff Biggs, who passed away earlier this month at the age of 44.
Biggs, who graduated from DU in 2004, was a two-time Denver men's lacrosse captain.
"Good players come and go but great teammates last forever," William G. Tierney Head Men's Lacrosse Coach
Matt Brown said. "Not only was Jeff a star on the lacrosse field, but he was one the best teammates to wear the Pioneer uniform. He was a two-time captain who you knew was always there for you no matter what. Jeff had a strong love for Pioneer Lacrosse and all of us Pioneers loved him."
A celebration of life will be held at Denver's Washington Park Site #3A on Sunday, September 15 from 4-6 p.m.
"Jeff was the ultimate friend and teammate, and someone you could always count on to be there for you. His passion and dedication was a true inspiration to us all," co-captain
Cory Vann said.
Biggs and Vann played in the North-South College Lacrosse All-Star Game together following their final season as Pioneers in 2004. In his Pioneer career, Biggs made 46 appearances as a midfielder for the Crimson and Gold, tallying 60 points on 42 goals and 18 assists.
