DENVER – The #ProPios played an impactful role in the opening weekend of the National Lacrosse League Semifinals last weekend
In the opening game of the weekend,
Wes Berg had seven apples for San Diego, but
Mark Matthews broke an 11-11 tie with 1:33 to go in regulation to complete his hat trick and take Toronto past San Diego by a count of 14-12.
Josh Dawick added three assists for the victorious Rock.
The middle game of the weekend saw Halifax take the only road win of the opening weekend of the semifinals.
Richie Connell had two goals for Georgia, but
Brendan Bomberry had a pair and six loose balls and
Casey Wilson had a four-point night to lead Halifax to a 12-7 win in game 1.
On Sunday, San Diego forced a game three scheduled for 5 p.m MT in Toronto on Saturday after they rounded out the opening weekend of the semifinals with an 11-6 win over the Rock. Berg led the Seals with a goal and five helpers.
