USAF ACADEMY, CO --The Denver volleyball team fought back after dropping the first set to secure a 3-1 victory (21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18) over the Air Force Falcons, Tuesday at Falcon Court.
The  win improved Denver's overall record to 4-2 on the season.
The Pioneers offense was paced by Cassie Davis, who finished with 15 kills on the day. Molly Mirabelli added 12 and Genevieve Lewis chipped in with 11 as part of balanced Denver attack. got 17 digs from Alayna Finucan along with seven blocks from Mirabelli and six rejections from Davis to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Pioneers found themselves in an early deficit, losing the first set 25-21. Air Force grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up five times before the Falcons took control.
SET 2 | Denver responded to pick up a 25-21 victory in set two, evening the match at one set apiece. The Pioneers survived a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured 10 lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. Denver's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking four Air Force attacks in the stanza.
SET 3 | Denver took a 2-1 match lead after taking down the Falcons in the third set. The Pioneers took the set 25-18 propelled by a solid showing on the attacking side. Denver put together a .303 attack percentage with 13 kills in the set win. The Pioneers ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. Denver's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Air Force attacks in the stanza.
SET 4 | Denver finished off the match with a 25-18 fourth-set victory, winning their third set in a row. The Pioneers took control of the set at 6-5 and held the lead the rest of the way. Denver led by as many as seven points at 24-17 before finishing off the stanza, collecting 18 kills along the way.
