GRAND FORKS, ND -- Jordan Jones totaled a career-high 30 points, but the Denver women's basketball team fell to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks, 69-61, on the road Saturday.
Jones added seven rebounds to her 30 point game to lead the Pioneers (7-10, 0-4). Angelina Robles helped out with a season-high 18 points and Emma Smith chipped in with five points.
Led by Alaisha Brown's two offensive rebounds, Denver did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards.
Denver forced 14 North Dakota turnovers while committing 11 themselves in Saturday's game. The Pioneers turned those takeaways into 16 points on the other end of the floor. Mary Wilson led the way individually with one steal.

North Dakota kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 63-50 advantage before Denver went on a 6-0 run to shrink the deficit to 63-56 with 1:01 to go in the contest. North Dakota responded and outscored the Pioneers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 69-61. Denver took advantage of its opportunities in the post, scoring 16 of its 29 points in the paint.
