Denver and Kansas City traded points early, but the Pioneers took control after an 8–5 lead fueled by three KC errors and an ace from Werger. Four straight Denver kills stretched the advantage to 14–7, and the Pios continued to ride their offensive momentum while capitalizing on additional Roos miscues. KC tried to close the gap with three straight points, but Perryman sealed the set with a cross-court kill for a 25–15 Denver win.
