Box Score ORLANDO – University of Denver women's tennis player Louise Wikander concluded her the 2025 fall season with a loss to Florida State's Eva Shaw in the round of 64 at the 2025 NCAA Division I Singles Tennis Championship at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday evening.
 
The two players traded breaks and went deep into each other's service games throughout the match and ultimately ended with a 6-4 6-3 win for Shaw.


After going down a break in her first service game of the match, Wikander got back on even terms fairly quickly at 2-2 before taking her own break lead at 4-3. Shaw then answered with a break back and went on to claim the final three games of the set to take the match lead.
 
The first seven games of the second all went to the server, though four of them ended on deuce points. Shaw earned the set's first break to go up 5-3 in what proved to be the decisive game and was able to hold in the following frame to take the match.
 
Wikander was making her first career appearance at the NCAA National Championships as a singles competitor after earning an automatic berth into the field by winning the 2025 ITA Mountain Regional Championships singles title in October. She became the eight Denver women's player to play in the NCAA singles tournament.
 
The DU senior from Helsingborg, Sweden, will return to the court in January to help lead the University of Denver women's tennis team at the start of its spring dual season. DU's schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
