DENVER -- The University of Denver women's basketball team is set to play the Regis Rangers on Friday night at 6 p.m. MT in Hamilton Gymnasium.
The game marks the first regular-season meeting between the two programs.
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
•The Pioneers won their second game in a row, defeating Cal State Fullerton, 60-55, in Hamilton Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon.
•Denver takes on Regis on Friday in Hamilton at 6 p.m. MT.
•DU heads back out on the road for a game against UTEP on Nov. 29, followed by the Big Sky Summit League challenge against Eastern Washington and Idaho on Dec. 3 and Dec. 6.
UNIVERSITY OF DENVER ACCEPTS WCC INVITE FOR 2026-27
•On October 31, the University of Denver announced it has accepted an invitation to join the West Coast Conference in nine sports, beginning in the 2026-27 season.
•Denver will join the West Coast Conference in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball.
•The move provides Denver with a significant enhancement to the overall reputation of the university and brand association, allying DU with highly regarded, mostly private institutions with stronger academic ranking and profiles that will further strengthen the university's position in the western United States.
WORKIN' WITH WATTS
•Sophomore Guard
Coryn Watts tied her career-high 23 points in Sunday's win over California State Fullerton
•The Colorado native leads the team with 35.4 minutes and 19.6 points per game and si11 steals through the first four contests.
•Watts ranks tenth in the nation in total points, 12th in field goals and 37th with 19.6 points per game.
PUTTING IN THE WORK
•The Pioneers earned back to back wins over Northern Colorado and Call State Fullerton last week.
•Denver had the top field goal percentage, three point percentage and scoring defenses in addition to 22 forced turnovers, good for the most in the Summit League during the third week of competition.
FRESH FACES ON THE BENCH
• In addition to the new faces on the roster, Woods added
Janet Butler,
Alex Frazier and
Owen Adams to the coaching staff this offseason.
• Butler joins the staff after spending a season as an assistant coach at Fordham and four seasons on staff at Tulane.
•Frazier previously served as an assistant at Monmouth University, coaching the program's first All-CAA First Team selection.
• Adams, a former student manager for Denver, returns to the DU staff after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Houston Christian.
