RMISA Announces 2026 Alpine Schedule Changes

Giant slalom races for Denver and Colorado Invitationals moved to Aspen

DENVER – Due to snow conditions at Eldora Mountain Resort, the giant slalom races for the Denver and Colorado Invitationals have been moved to Aspen Highlands, the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association announced.
 
The season-opening alpine races were slated to be held on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 12-13 at Eldora, but the GS events will now be pushed back to Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 14-15 in Aspen.
 
The slalom events are still being held at Loveland Ski Area, but those races now begin the two meets on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 12-13, instead of a Wednesday-Thursday start.
 
DU and CU and co-hosting the races for their annual meets, with slalom on Jan. 12 and giant slalom on Jan. 14 serving as the Denver Invitational and slalom on Jan. 13 and GS on Jan. 15 making up the Colorado Invite.
 
The 2026 collegiate campaign begins next Sunday, Jan. 4 with the Nordic-only RMISA Invitational during the U.S. Cross Country National Championships at Mount Van Hovenberg in Lake Placid, New York.
