Pioneers Set to Play Metro State on Tuesday Afternoon

DENVER -- The University of Denver women's basketball team takes on Metro State on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. MT in Hamilton Gymnasium in the first game of the Holiday Hoops double-header.

The Pioneers are a perfect 1-0 against the Roadrunners, with the 82-48 victory on December 19, 2009.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
•The Pioneers fell to Idaho on Saturday afternoon in the finale of the Big Sky Summit League challenge in Hamilton Gymnasium.  
•DU takes on the Metro State Roadrunners on Tuesday in the first game of the Holiday Hoops Double Header in Hamilton.
•DU travels to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Jayhawks on December 14 in Allen Field House.

UNIVERSITY OF DENVER ACCEPTS WCC INVITE FOR 2026-27
•On October 31, the University of Denver announced it has accepted an invitation to join the West Coast Conference in nine sports, beginning in the 2026-27 season.  
•Denver will join the West Coast Conference in men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis and women's volleyball.
•The move provides Denver with a significant enhancement to the overall reputation of the university and brand association, allying DU with highly regarded, mostly private institutions with stronger academic ranking and profiles that will further strengthen the university's position in the western United States. 

PICKING POCKETS
Laia Monclova leads the Summit League with 23 steals through the first nine contests.
•Her 2.56 steals per game are good for the best in the conference and 66th in the nation.
•The Pioneers average 7.9 steals per game.

WORKIN' WITH WATTS
•Sophomore Guard Coryn Watts tied her career-high 23 points in the win over California State Fullerton on November 16.
•The Colorado native leads the team and the league and ranks 24th in the nation with 35.1 minutes per game.
•Watts ranks 41st in the nation in total points, 36th in points per game, 17th in field goal attempts, and 44th in field goals.
