PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico - The University of Denver men's golf team shot 17-over in the first round of the Vaqueros Intercollegiate at Iberostar Playa Paraiso Golf Course and is tied for ninth place after 18 holes.
Louis Anceaux of Louisiana-Monroe leads the individual race at 4-under. Jose Ramirez (Wichita State) and Aaron Davis (SMU) round out the top three, tied at 3-under.
