DU Gymnastics Enters NQS Rankings at No. 19

Denver returns to rankings with first NQS of 2025; adds top-25 spots on three events

DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 19 in the Week 8 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.

This is the second week that national rankings are determined by National Qualifying Score (NQS), which is calculated using the six highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The highest of the six scores is dropped, and the remaining five scores are averaged.

Denver did not have enough road meets to earn an NQS at the time that the Week 7 rankings were released on February 17 and thus did not appear in last week's rankings. With its season-high 197.525 at Utah on February 21, DU has now met the minimum requirements for generating an NQS and has returned to the Road to Nationals rankings.

DENVER'S NQS
197.525 – Away
197.125 – Home
196.625 – Home
196.575 – Home
196.325 – Away
194.600 – Away
NQS: 196.250

Denver has reset its season high in each of the last three weeks, peaking with its 197.525 at Utah.

TEAM NATIONAL RANKINGS
Overall: No. 19 (196.250)
Vault: No. 14 (49.150)
Bars: No. 10 (49.305)
Beam: No. 21 (49.020)

At Utah on February 21, DU also set season highs on all three of the events that it is now nationally ranked on, highlighted by its 49.525 on bars that became the program's fifth highest road score and 10th highest overall score.

Denver's initial bars NQS of 49.305 already ranks among the best in DU history, sitting at No. 8 in the program record books and a little more than a tenth from the top five.

INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS

Denver closes out February with another Big 12 Conference meet on the road, visiting Iowa State for a tri meet with No. 18 NC State on Friday, February 28.
