DENVER – The No. 70-ranked University of Denver men's tennis team is headed to the state of Utah for two matches against Big 12 Conference teams to close February and begin March.
Denver first makes the trip to BYU on Friday, February 28, at 5 p.m. MT before playing at No. 56-ranked Utah on Sunday, March 2, at 12 p.m. MT.
BYU and Utah are the third and fourth Power-4 opponents on DU's 2025 dual schedule.
LAST TIME OUT:
Denver hosted two matches at Denver Tennis Park on February 21-23 and came away with matching 5-2 victories. DU first defeated then-No. 65 Utah State after winning the doubles point and then clinching the win at 4-0 with victories at Nos. 1, 3 and 5 singles.
DU backed up the win with another 5-2 victory over Jacksonville State and did so from behind after dropping the doubles decision. Freshman

Daniel Sancho Arbizu again accounted for wins in two of the first singles matches to wrap up, and senior
Rikuto Yamaguchi clinched the win at the No. 2 spot.

Theo Coats combined to sweep the weekly Summit League men's tennis awards with the senior earning his second Peak Performer of the Week honor while the tandem of Sancho Arbizu/Coats collected the Doubles Peak Team of the Week nod, also for the second time this season.
SERIES HISTORY:
BYU: Denver and BYU have met 20 times previously with the Cougars owning a 13-7 record. DU earned the win in their most recent meeting, capturing a 4-3 victory at home on February 29, 2020. Denver's last trip to BYU came on February 23, 2019, in a 5-2 BYU win.
Utah: DU is 9-13 against Utah, and the teams have met at least once in each of the last 14 years. Denver earned a 4-0 sweep at home over Utah last year (February 2) after the Utes claimed a 5-2 win the last time the teams played in Salt Lake City (February 25, 2023).
