[9] Denver Takes on [8] Omaha in Opening Round of Summit League Tournament on Wednesday

DENVER - Coming off a win over the Coyotes in Vermillion on Saturday, the No. 9 Pioneers return to South Dakota to take on the No. 8 Omaha Mavericks on Wednesday in Sioux Falls. Tip is set for 4:30 CT/3:30 MT inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.
LAST TIME OUT:
The Pioneers defeated the South Dakota Coyotes, 63-60, on Saturday afternoon in Vermillion, South Dakota. Junior guard Jordan Jones recorded her 15th game this season with at least 20 points, putting up 26 points against the Yotes.
SERIES HISTORY:
Denver and Omaha are 12-12 all time. Wednesday will mark the first time that the two programs have met in the Summit League Conference Tournament. DU defeated the Mavericks 71-56 in Hamilton in January, but dropped the matchup in Omaha, 77-80 on February 15.

HONORING MR. DANIEL L. RITCHIE
- Denver women's basketball players will wear special 'DR' patches on their jerseys for the remainder of the 2024-25 season to honor Chancellor Emeritus Daniel L. Ritchie, who passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30 at the age of 93.
- Ritchie was an immense supporter of DU Athletics during his time as the school's "Cowboy Chancellor" beginning in 1989, and his support for all 18 D-I programs continued after he left the position in 2005. Among his accomplishments as Chancellor was leading the University to new success academically and moving the school to full Division-I status in 1998-99—the same year the Daniel L. Ritchie Center of Sports and Wellness opened on campus where Denver plays its home games inside Hamilton Gymnasium.
- The University hosted a memorial for Mr. Ritchie on February 13 in Magness Arena to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy. Learn more about Daniel L. Ritchie at DenverPioneers.com and DU.edu.
- In offensive coordinator Lindsay Werntz' four seasons under head coach Doshia Woods, the Pioneers have played the analytics game, finishing top-30 nationally in both three-pointers attempted and triples made per game.
- In 2023-24, Denver finished 10th in threes attempted (821/27.4), 29th in threes made per game (8.2) and 207th in three-point field goal percentage (30.1).
