DENVER - The Pioneers had ten different goal scorers in the 18-6 win over the Fairfield Stags on Sunday afternoon at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
Sophomore attacker
Olivia Ripple struck first for the Pioneers, just two minutes into the game off an assist from freshman
Eva Thomsen-Marr. The Denver offense broke open the scoring early, thanks to a first quarter hat trick by senior attacker
Lauren Black. Thomsen-Marr,
Caroline Keil,
Raegan Wilson and
Ryan Dineen all found the back of the net, giving Denver an 8-1 advantage after the first frame.
Denver scored two more goals to start the second quarter before Fairfield answered with one of their own.
Addy Caulk and
Megan Myers added to the scoring column, giving the Crimson and Gold a 13-3 advantage at halftime.Â
The Pioneers defense stifled the Stags in the second half, holding them to just four shots on goal and causing nine turnovers. DU's offense added five more goals in the second half, including goals by
Caroline Colimore and
Mollie Estepp, to beat Fairfield 18-6.Â
KEY PERFORMANCES
- Black and Thomsen-Marr combined for 10 points for the Pioneers. Black's first-quarter hat trick marks her fifth of the season. Thomsen-Marr's five points and four assists are both career highs for the freshman.
- Keil recorded her first career hat trick with four goals.
- Maddie Montgomery earned a season-high four caused turnovers while Sarah Pokorny and Carly Frohnapfel each added three takeaways.
- Lauren Hall recorded her first career save in goal.

- Denver's 17 caused turnovers are the most in a single game this season, and most by a Pioneers squad since March 8, 2024 at Northwestern.
- This marks the third time this season 10 Pioneers have recorded goals in a single game.Â
- The Pioneers' 10-goal halftime lead is the largest margin at halftime since April 16, 2023 when DU led the Xavier Musketeers 16-4 halfway through.
