DENVER – University of Denver gymnast
Madison Ulrich earned three postseason All-America honors by way of her performance at the 2025 NCAA National Championships, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association announced on Friday.
The WCGA awards postseason All-America honors to the top eight finishers, plus ties, on all events plus the all-around within each of the two semifinals at the NCAA National Championships. The Nos. 1-4 finishers, plus ties, on each event earn first-team status while the Nos. 5-8 finishers, plus ties, collect second-team recognition.
Ulrich earned second-team All-America honors in the all-around (tie-No. 6), on bars (tie-No. 8) and on beam (tie-No. 7) after competing as an individual all-around specialist in the first semifinal of NCAA Nationals on Thursday.
The sophomore started her competition with back-to-back 9.8875s on bars and beam in the first two rotations, scores that would hold up by the end of the meet to keep her in the top eight. Both marks are now tied for the seventh highest scores on the respective events by a Denver gymnast at the NCAA National Championships.
She ended the meet with a 9.850 on floor and a 9.700 on vault, giving her a 39.325 in the all-around and securing her a third All-America nod. Her all-around tally became the 10
th highest in Denver's history at NCAA Nationals.
Ulrich is the sixth DU gymnast to earn at least three postseason All-America honors in a single season and the first since
Lynnzee Brown and
Jessica Hutchinson collected three apiece in 2023. She joins Brown (2021) and
Nina McGee (2016) as the only Denver gymnasts to earn three All-America awards as an individual qualifier to the national championships.
She is the seventh Denver gymnast to earn postseason All-America status in the all-around, the sixth on beam and the ninth on bars. In total, she is the 16
th Denver gymnast overall to become a postseason All-American.
Overall, Ulrich finished tied for No. 16 in the all-around and on beam, and tied for No. 20 on bars once results from both semifinals were combined. All three finishes place her in the top 10 in Denver's NCAA Nationals record book.
