Denver Puts Three on USA Lacrosse All-America Teams

Casey Wilson was named to the second team, while Jimmy Freehill and Mic Kelly earned third-team honors

SPARKS, Md. – The University of Denver men's lacrosse program had three student-athletes earn spots on the 2025 USA Lacrosse Division I Men's All-America list, the organization announced on Thursday.

Senior SSDM Casey Wilson led the Pioneer trio with a spot on the second team, while senior close defenseman Jimmy Freehill and senior offensive midfielder Mic Kelly was named to the third team. All three Pioneers were unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selections last week.

Wilson brought home his second All-America honor in as many years from USA Lacrosse, after earning honorable mention in 2024. Last week, Wilson earned his second all-conference honor and his first All-BIG EAST First Team recognition. In 13 games before suffering a season-ending injury, Wilson picked up 26 ground balls and forced eight turnovers. Wilson picked-up a career-high seven ground balls in the Pios 14-7 win at St. John's on April 5. The Victoria, British Columbia, native also chipped in three goals and five assists in transition. In his career, Wilson had 109 ground balls, 28 caused turnovers, 14 goals and 12 assists.

Freehill earned his second All-America honor from USA Lacrosse, after being name to the second team a year ago. The Denver senior earned his third all-conference award last week, and his second first-team selection in 2025. DU's defensive captain played and started in all 14 games, drawing the opponents top attackman assignment throughout the season. Freehill forced 16 turnovers and picked up 27 ground balls for the Pios defense. The Newton, Massachusetts, native finished his Denver career with 92 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers.

Kelly earned his first career All-America honor from any outlet on Thursday. He played and started in all 14 contests for the Pios en-route to his first All-BIG EAST honor. The Towson, Maryland, native scored a career-high 27 goals and added eight assists for a career-best 35 points. Kelly finished just six points shy of joining the 100-point club from the Denver midfield. The DU first-line middie scored five times on the man-up this season, and finished with four hat tricks, including a hatty in Denver's 13-6 win over No. 7 Duke in Dallas on March 22.
