DENVER – Recent University of Denver men's swimming and diving graduate
Dylan Wright qualified for the South African team for the 2025 World University Games that will take place in Berlin, Germany from July 17-23.
The 2025 Summit League Men's Swimmer of the Year will swim in the 200 back and 200 fly for his country at the games.
The Cape Town, South Africa, native, ranked 99
th in the country in the 200 back last season, recording a 200 back time of 1:42.52 to earn an NCAA B Standard in the event. Wright was part of the 200 medley and 800 free relays that earned Summit League Championships, while individually winning the 200 back (1:42.52) and finishing third in the 100 back (47.95).
Earlier this offseason, Wright earned a Worlds Qualifying B-Cut at the South African National Championships, swimming the 200 back in 2:01.67, an event he finished second in. Wright also finished third in the 200 fly and 11
th in the 100 back at the championships.
