Denver Men’s Soccer Sets 2025 Non-Conference Schedule

Coming off its run to the 2024 College Cup, the Pioneers will have eight regular season home games at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium this fall

DENVER – The University of Denver men's soccer program has finalized its 12-match non-conference schedule, Jack and Sheila Weinberg Head Men's Soccer Coach Jamie Franks announced on Wednesday. The Pioneers, who are looking to build their tournament resume after getting to the College Cup for the second time in program history last season, will play five of its first seven matches at home to highlight the 2025 slate.

The 18-match regular season schedule features programs that combined for a 173-99-73 record a year ago, and an average RPI of 54.5. The Pios will play 10 NCAA Tournament teams from last season, including six that got to at least the third round and a pair of NCAA Quarterfinal opponents in Pittsburgh and UMass.

Season tickets for the Denver men's soccer 25 season are on sale now, and can be purchased here.

Denver opens the season on August 21 when Washington returns the Pios trip to the PNW from a year ago. The teams will meet for the fifth time since the two programs clashed in the 2016 NCAA Round of 16 in the Mile High City (2-1 Denver win). DU and UW have split the previous nine meetings 3-3-3.

The Pioneers will close the opening weekend of the season on August 24 with a trip to the Farm to take on Stanford for the second-consecutive season. Last August, then-freshman Keegan Kelly scored the game-winner in the opening minutes of the second half to secure Denver's first-ever win over Stanford in its seventh try.

DU will play the second weekend of the campaign entirely at home when the Pioneers welcome San Diego (Aug. 28) and SIUE (Aug. 31) to the University of Denver Soccer Stadium. San Diego went 15-3-2 and reached the third round of the postseason after finishing in the top-20 of the RPI, while SIUE put together a 12-5-3 and qualified for the NCAAs as well.

The Crimson and Gold will make a familiar trip to Creighton to open the third weekend of the season when Denver travels to Creighton on a Friday night for the second season in a row. Denver is unbeaten in its last four against Creighton, including a 3-1 win in Omaha last September. DU closes week three of the season with a Monday Night Futbol date against Cal Poly (Sept. 8) in the Mile High City.

Denver's first single-match week of the season sees the Pioneers welcome Mercer to the DU campus on September 14.

The Pios close out pre-conference play with its lone trip to the Pacific Northwest this season to take on Portland (Sept. 19) and Seattle (Sept. 22). Denver hosted both programs a year ago, defeating Seattle 2-1 and drawing with Portland 0-0 despite outshooting the Pilots 21-6.

Denver opens its Summit League regular season title defense against last year's league tournament champions Kansas City at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium on September 27.

A now much deeper Summit League with the additions of UMass and Delaware, the Pioneers will make their first trip to UMass on October 4, a rematch of Denver's 3-0 win last season in the NCAA Quarterfinals in-front of a stadium-record 2,361 at DU.

While on the east coast, Denver will step back out of conference play a few days later to take on Georgetown in the nation's capital. DU last traveled to the BIG EAST foe in 2022, drawing 1-1 with the Hoyas. Georgetown finished 11-5-5 last season and was third in the final RPI.

Summit League newcomers Delaware will make its first trip to the Mile High City on October 11 before the Pioneers return to the east coast for a pair of ACC clashes against Pittsburgh (Oct. 14) and Virginia (Oct. 19).

Denver will be back in Summit League play for the rest of the regular season, starting with a trip to Omaha on October 25 before a Senior Night date with Oral Roberts on November 1. The Pioneers close out the regular season on November 5 at St. Thomas.

The Summit League Tournament will feature four teams over a two-weekend stretch. The league semifinals are set for November 9 on the campus sites of the top-two seeds, with the highest remaining seed hosting the Summit League Final on November 15.
